Local, wild foods access is easy and free - there's just some learning to do to get there. An interpretive walk of the North Saskatchewan river valley, identifying plant and fungus species that you can incorporate into your food system at home, followed by a tasting of some wild flavours from our pantry. Led by Kevin Kossowan with a small group size, the focus will be on culinary use of wild plant species. 9am-noon, rain or shine. Wear rugged footwear, and dress as covered as you can to protect yourself from scratches and mosquitos. Water, a camera, a hat, and a pocket knife are generally helpful. You'll receive a briefing email 2-3 days before the outing with location maps, and any other relevant details.
